Understanding VERO Income Verification

To ensure a smooth application process and build a fantastic living environment for everyone, we've partnered with Vero for secure ID and income verification. We can't wait for you to call IRT home! Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to commonly asked questions about our income verification process. If you have additional questions, please contact our leasing office.

  • Link directly to your employer, payroll provider, or benefits account(s)
  • Submit 3 most recent consecutive paystubs that show at least 21 days of income
  • Link your bank account for a one-time snapshot of your deposits.
    • NOTE: using this method will only verify net income. To submit gross income, please use the other verification methods.
  • Offer Letters, Child Support, SSI documents can be uploaded in the 1099 section. These will be reviewed by our Centralized Application Team after submitted in Vero.
  • Gross income is the full amount you are paid for each paycheck.
    • It is preferred to submit your gross income by linking your employer or payroll provider or submit at least 3 paystubs.
  • Net income is your gross income minus taxes, benefits, 401K, or other credits from your paycheck.
  • Paystubs may not be consecutive
  • Pay periods on paystubs are not clear or listed
  • Linking a Bank Account only shows net Income
  • Missing additional income streams (adding Uber, Lyft, etc.)
  • Only connected one bank account, when income is deposited across different accounts
  • Cash income or deposits from cash transfer apps
  • No recent income deposits
  • Calculated directly from your payroll provider or employer
  • Using an average of paystubs for 21 days of income
  • Using base pay and frequency of the payments
  • In order to show consistent income, submit at least 21 days of income and 3 paystubs, even if they span more than 21 days of income. Submit at least 3 most recent, consecutive paystubs.
  • Bonuses or recent pay raises may not be reflected
  • Payroll provider may not share sufficient information
  • Seasonal or contracted employment status may not show a full years' income

  2. Go to My Applications
  3. Click View > Edit Application
  4. Confirm withdrawal to edit, then resubmit after editing your application
  • Paystubs (minimum of three most current, consecutive paystubs showing at least 21 days of income)
  • 1099s
  • Bank statements (minimum of two most current statements)

Upload all miscellaneous documents under 1099 for manual review

  • If your income appears lower than expected, ensure you have linked all relevant employers or bank accounts
  • If deposits aren't recognized, verify that the linked account receives your income
  • If uploading financial documents, ensure they are clear, legible, and in PDF format for the best accuracy

VERO can only verify income through one method at a time. If you provide both linked employer data and paystubs:

  • VERO will prioritize the linked employer data for verified income calculations
  • Your uploaded paystubs will remain available for the community to review alongside your application. This will require a ticket to our Centralized Application Team which will require additional time to review
